Embalming

A process to preserve a corpse, prevention of decomposition and epidemics, restoration and make-up for a funeral.
It has a long history since ancient Egypt of mummification. In Christian countries where burial is common, embalming is regarded as important from the thought of the resurrection. Embalming is a chemical and surgical treatment to a corpse, so it's prcaticed by a technical expert called embalmer.

Attraced to the most dangerous country in the world Colombia, the land of love and violence, the photographer Tsurisaki Kiyotaka who's been taking photos of human bodies in the lawless area and the trouble spots around the world was led to the zone called 'El Cartucho' in Bogota and there he met the embalmer Orozco. It was not surprisingly that Tsurisaki got interested in the profession and deeply impressed by the fact that as an embalmer Orozco keepd mourning for countless victims of violence and bloody history in Colombia.This led Tsurisaki to undergo the long-term coverage of 3 years.This is not as just a video footage of corpse.It is the cruel shockumentary which questions life, death, dignity and the bizarre of human beings, and it is the too much shocking epic film of love and violence.Tsurisaki infiltratethed 'El Cartucho' and revealed the essence of love and violence through the coverage of an embalmer Froilan Orozco.Is it social or bizarre? Is it beauty or bad taste? It's all up to you to judge what it is.
